It’s time I started using this thing than just posting crazy photo comics like I said I would. So now I give you “Band of the Week” which is self explanatory

Today’s Band:

The Pax Cecilia

From: Rochester, New York

Samples

I still haven’t had enough time to digest all of their latest album, Blessed Are The Bonds, but I know it has made enough of an impact on me so that I have to try and rant to you on here about it. So the sound of this thing? it’s kind of hard to categorize and that is completely fine by my standards. At first it can be a blissful heap of sound with piano and strings and then all of a sudden, guitars and a bowl of chaos come in to pull you away from the clouds. If you are looking for hooks, then you should probably ignore this. This has come to challenge with it’s songwriting and I also have no problem with that as well. The production is clear and instruments ring true in all eight songs and at 60 minutes, it’s as epic as it has to be. Just the way I love it. There are some things that do bother me such as the not so clean vocals, but that is me being a little nit-picky.

So now go check it out. Go listen to it. I mean it. Go to their website posted above. They are giving away their album for FREE!

FLIPPING FREE!

And they did this before with their previous EP, Nouveau, in 2003 so please don’t say they want to be Radiohead. Please go check them out, listen and let me know what you think.
